Q: How can UPort work with RS485, RS232, and other serial interfaces?

A: UPort's onboard serial interface uses TTL-level signals. To work with RS485/RS232 interfaces, use the corresponding converter module to convert RS485/RS232 signals to TTL-level signals.

An easier option is to use a USB-to-RS485/RS232 adapter directly. Plug the USB-to-serial adapter into UPort's USB port, then use UPort's USBIP feature to forward it so serial debugging tools can access it on the computer.

If you want to use UPort's serial pass-through feature with the adapter, plug it in and click Rescan in the serial port list. UPort will automatically identify the USB-to-serial adapter and add it as a new serial pass-through port.

Q: How do I recover when serial health is red?

A: If serial health is red, the serial connection is abnormal. Click Rescan at the bottom of the screen or click Rescan in the Web UI, and UPort will scan the serial devices again.
